How can my organisation join Carefree in order to refer carers as a Community Partner?

If you are, or work for, any public sector or voluntary body that has direct knowledge of the circumstances of a carer and meet the criteria listed below, you can become a community partner.


What are the requirements in order to become a referral partner?

  • To have 300+ adult unpaid carers

  • To sign a Memorandum of Understanding, which includes a data-sharing agreement

  • To have appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures in place

  • To be fully GDPR compliant

  • To provide at least 15 referrals each calendar year

  • To ensure that the referrals meet the eligibility criteria (see above)

  • To provide supporting evidence or rationale for referrals that do not

  • Adhere to the eligibility criteria

  • To help caregivers access financial support where possible

  • To submit referrals securely and with the prior consent of the caregiver
