If you would like to submit a self-referral application with Carefree, click on the "Take a break" widget at the top-right corner of our website.

To complete the registration you will be required to answer some questions and provide the below documents:

ID: After completing the questionnaire, you'll be prompted to upload a valid ID. We accept passports, driver’s licenses, or identity cards. If you don’t have a valid ID, you can select a referee with a valid UK ID to vouch for you.

Carers Allowance: After your ID has been verified, you will be asked to upload proof of your caring status (Carer Allowance, Carer Support Payment (Scotland only), or Universal Credit element, which must be with the most recent date).

or

Referee: If you are not receiving either of the two (Carer Allowance or Universal Credit element, which must be with the most recent date), you can choose the referee route and provide details of someone who can confirm your caring status. A referee can be anyone who knows you and can vouch for your full-time caring role.

Please note that the referee must NOT be a direct family member or living in the same household.
