Uploading your proof of carer's allowance

If we have been unable to accept your proof of carer's allowance it will likely be due to one of the following reasons:

  • The image of the carer's allowance letter you have uploaded is not clear enough to the degree that we are unable to verify it is you who is in receipt of carer's allowance.

  • You have uploaded an image of something other than a carer's allowance letter from the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP), OR your Universal Credit award notice doesn't itemise a ‘carer element’ payment award, which we cannot use to verify you are a carer.

If you are not in receipt of carer's allowance or do not have a copy of your letter from the DWP, OR don't have a 'carer element' itemized in your Universal Credit you can still self-verify by submitting a referee (who can confirm your caring status).
